Noodle's 1st Day of Kindergarten

Monday, Aug 25, 2008 was Noodle's first day of Kindergarten. She's 5 1/2 years old, already. She was plenty ready for school and very excited. Her teacher is Mrs. Robinough.

This is Noodle and Allye. Allye lives 2 doors from us and is in the same class as Noodle. They walk to and from school together.

This is another girl, Nautica, who lives inbetween these 2 girls. She's in Kindergarten too, but she's in all day - so I'll have to post her picture later. The 3 of them can walk home together and play together at recess.

LOVE/HATE

I love these trees - we have 2 of them in our back yard. They're huge! In this picture we only have 1 "sky chair" but we usually have 2 of them up. It's so nice to sit in the swing and sway under the AWESOME shade these trees provide.

I absolutely HATE what these beautiful trees leave us in the fall.

The first one (the greenest one) is how they start. And the spikes aren't very pokey. They are still soft. Then as they start to dry up the begin to get pokey. And pokier until they drop off into our grass. (The farthest right one). So there is no running barefoot in our backyard. We rake them up and try to get as many as we can, but there is NO way we can get all of them. It's SOOO obnoxious and it's really a pain - pun intended. If you step on one, they are so brittle, it breaks off in your foot. OUCH!!!

Buddy's First Day of Second Grade

On Monday, Aug 18, 2008, Buddy started 2nd grade. His teacher is Mrs. Craft. He's excited!! He's 7 1/2 years old.

A Girl After My Own Heart!

Noodle likes to play with Barbie's. She likes to dress them and accessorize them. But a lot of times she can't find the right clothes. So she found this odd sock and wanted me to make a couple cuts so it could be a dress. I was amazed how well it turned out! The heel of this sock fit perfectly with the Barbie's bum so it doesn't look weird. It's stretchy so she can EASILY dress and undress it. Plus it's a GREAT idea for odd socks.

Twlight Movie

Fantastic News Twlight Fans! Here is an exact quote from Stephenie Meyer's web site:

Movie News Flash!
So, many of you have heard that the release of the sixth Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, has been moved from this Thanksgiving to next summer. First and foremost, please know that this schedule change has absolutely nothing to do with Twilight, me, or Summit Films (so enough with the imdb death wishes, okay?). This is Warner Bros. decision, and it was not motivated by anything Twilight-related.
Now for the good news! Though we're all sad to have to wait for Harry Potter, this open spot at the theater creates a cool opportunity. The good people at Summit were thrilled to let me know that now Twilight fans are going to get their movie three weeks earlier than scheduled. That's right—Twilight will be released in theaters November 21st! Let the merry-making commence!
--Stephenie

I can hardly wait. I truly am sorry for all you Harry Potter fans. I like those movies, too. However, I'm very happy that something exceptionally great can happen because of the delay!
At the risk of showing my age: what does she mean when she says "imdb"?

Garden Varity

The other night for dinner we had hamburgers and hot dogs, corn on the cob from our neighbors garden and a cucumber, some tomatoes, acorn squash and green beans from our garden. It was so cool too eat all of these things that we grew and took care of. The kids have a GREAT time looking for ripe things to pick. They even weed for short periods of time. Our garden isn't very big this year, but I'm hoping next year we'll get a bigger one.

So comfy!

Lewlew can often be found sleeping like this. She ALWAYS has her legs crossed - even in her sleep! She usually lays like this before she goes to sleep, but also sometime in her slumber, she'll do this again! So Sweet!!

Bionical

For what ever reason, Buddy wanted me to take a picture of him and his bionical. And then he wanted me to post it. So here you go! I think he's pretty proud of it.

Dance, Dance, Dance...

Noodle had her first dance recital last week. It was so funny to watch her class as well as the others - it's like trying to teach cats. But she had a good time. She wasn't even nervous at all. I think her favorite part was wearing makeup. Here's a short video of her class. She's the third from the right. You may want to pause the blog music at the right so you can hear the recital music.
